Abstract:
In the traditional educational system, each person follows a well-established path, depending on their own choices that they manifest at a certain level of education. This route starts from kindergarten and can end with doctoral studies. But in the current conditions of technological evolution and the way the labor market is changing, individuals can choose, from a certain level (university or postgraduate studies), to follow different learning environments. The courses are available to everyone who has access to the Internet, without the need to move to a certain space and within a certain time frame. These courses have the role of covering certain gaps in individual training and providing new skills to the person following them - professional training programs. The courses are held in short periods and are completed with one or more tests that attest to the person's new skills. The problem that arises when they are completed is how to certify the new knowledge acquired. If the training program is carried out within a company or organized by it, the certification is recognized automatically. This is why micro-credentials have emerged that verify, validate and attest that specific skills and competencies have been achieved. They differ from traditional degrees because they are offered for shorter periods of study than a classic program, but at the same time, they are more flexible. This article presents the possibility of using the Moodle Learning Management System for a Certificate plug-in to generate micro-credentials/certificates for completing a specific course in a degree program. This certificate is granted to people who, after completing their classical studies, want to prove to a potential employer that they have specific skills by completing a certain course without presenting the entire list of courses attended.
