Abstract:
The basic interest of the Czech Republic is to ensure the safety of its citizens and their fundamental rights, freedoms and the protection of their lives and health, property, environment and critical infrastructure. These interests are part of the safety management process in the territory. This process consists of the identification of danger associated with the territory or risks that threaten the assessed territory. The territory consists of elements interconnected by energy, information, financial and other links. Damage to these phenomena could lead to disruption of the system as a whole. Hand in hand with the growing need to reduce risks and their impact on the territory, there is a need of Risk assessment - risk analysis and evaluation. At the Technical University of VSB-TUO, Faculty of Safety Engineering, Department of Civil Protection, students deal with the phenomenon of risk in scholarly subjects, such as Risk Assessment. Part of the concept of the subject is to acquaint students with methods using Bloom's taxonomy. The subject emphasizes the current methods and trends in risk assessment that students may encounter in practice. The article summarizes these methods for risk assessment. Part of the article is to point out the use of the current method of risk visualization in map and its new philosophy. The constant reaction to the existing methods used in practice and the introduction of new trends in education will offer students a better understanding of risk assessment in the territory, the connection of theoretical and practical knowledge and better employability in the safety field.
