Abstract:
The right to education is one of the fundamental human rights. It is enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1984) and several international conventions dealing with human rights, including Act No. 2 Coll., The Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms. The right to education should be granted to everyone, regardless of who they are (religion, gender), where they live (developing or developed state), or how much money the family has. Still, there are millions of people who lack basic knowledge to improve their living conditions (hygiene habits, disaster preparedness). To ensure lifelong inclusive, fair, and quality education for all, the UN created the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program in 2015. The main goal of SDGs is that all residents can live a life without poverty, hunger, and inequality while improving living conditions not only for the present generation but also for the future. The UN has defined exactly 17 goals that are focused on health, economics, infrastructure, environment, cooperation, but also education. The article aims to point out the importance of quality education in the community, focusing on vulnerable groups. Socially vulnerable groups will be defined based on social vulnerability, determined by the community context and social needs and values. In theory, the links between education and the factors that determine a healthy community will be evaluated. The factors determining the healthy community will be modified to correspond to the conditions of the Czech Republic, being directly dependent on the Community factor and closely linked to the Education factor. Furthermore, an analysis of the targets in the field of SDG4 Education in the Czech Republic will be carried out, and the fulfillment of these targets will be evaluated. The practical part introduces the possibilities of education of students at the Faculty of Safety Engineering of VSB-TU in the subject Risk Analysis, where students can apply their acquired knowledge in the form of case studies.
