The Ministry of Education of Mexico for the country’s colleges and universities from five years ago has implemented a new perspective of the educational model based on the development of competencies in students. This educational reform movement is forcing changes in many traditional pedagogical and educational practices. Government officials and some practitioners are recognizing the effectiveness of emerging technologies in establishing new goals and implementing innovative pedagogical methods but student-centered. In this way, the student will build their knowledge at the time that enhances their abilities and skills. The teacher is a guide that helps the learner to keep the course toward the goal line. In the few years that this so-called model of educational innovation has been implemented, we have realized that there is a pressing need to reconsider the contents of learning units on environmental matters. The higher environmental education should start from the premise that the student has come up with concerning their environment built thinking, either environmental or social. Therefore, the educational system is wrong input to teach an adult student to build their knowledge. The Andragogy arises as the model to follow, with the peculiarity that does not focus the teaching process learning in students only, but on problems to be solved. Focus the educational model in the resolution of problems poses a methodological problem of extreme complexity, given that the problems are not simple, sometimes are complicated, but for the most part are complex, specifically areas of engineering based on the educational system in the traditional teacher-student. Eco-design is a method that by its thematic mainstreaming and interdisciplinary in people who participate in it is suitable to develop the educational process in engineering, but that is easily reproducible in other disciplines such as biology, ecology, geography, etc. The teaching process learning in this case is composed of the elements “to know- to do” through perceptive methods of didactic of environmental sciences while seeking to understand the environmental complexity to represent it in a technological product of the inventiveness of the student, once this has generated the skills necessary to create one conceptually and physically. As a result, students designed different products. A deodorant container was registered as a "utility model" at the Mexican Institute of Intellectual Property in 2013.
