Abstract:
Gender equality in sport is an ongoing effort to ensure that both women and men have equal access to opportunities, resources and recognition throughout the sporting events. This issue covers various aspects including participation, funding, promotion and leadership in sport. Globally, efforts for gender equality in sport are essential not only to promote equal rights, but also to benefit from the full and varied contribution of each and every party involved and interested in the intrinsic or related aspects of worldwide sport. Contemporary progress on the issue is evident, but continued commitment is needed to ensure sustainable and equitable change in sport. Gender-specific planning of sport activities may reflect different approaches, taking into account the physical, social and cultural particularities of both women and men. It is important to emphasize that while biological differences may in some cases influence training strategies, the approach must be fair and promote equal opportunities. Consequently, it is essential to avoid gender stereotypes and generalizations and to promote an individualized approach that recognizes the diversity and individuality of each athlete. This not only improves sports performance, but also helps create an environment where everyone can develop and excel in sports, regardless of gender. This article presents an analysis of the theoretical and practical training programs for students in higher education institutions with a sports profile in the Republic of Moldova in the context of the country's accession to the EU and the need for synchronization of educational policies in the field.
