Abstract:
Since the introduction of the first screens or the first audio-guides in the museums, auxiliary technology addressed to visitors has been empowering the museum scene and breaking ground in their communications through social media. Beyond their use as a support in exhibitions, many specialists in e-learning see ICTs as a fundamental tool for the transmission of knowledge in the museum scene, and especially to allow a greater participation of the visitors as an active part in the activities of museums. The current scene debates around the implementation of ICTs as a tool intended for the participation of the visitors in the museum. Museum Management teams are divided between the reluctant before the immensity of contents and possible not allowed uses and the optimistic who see ICTs as an essential resort to widen its capacity of communication and action. In this work we have carried out a study about the perception and expectations of ICTs use in museums, based on sociocultural variables and level of digital alphabetisation of visitors.
