Abstract:
The paper provides an insight into the area of efforts that lead to the introduction and further extension of the use of information technology in the education at primary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic. The introductory part describes the current state and the motives driving the schools to reach the desired state after implementation of information technology, primarily mobile (touch-input) devices. Next chapters describe various devices that have been introduced as well as issues related to their introduction, such as their potential use in lessons (primarily focused on language education), technological readiness, compatibility of devices, etc. The final part provides real data and experience with implementation of such devices in several schools in the north-eastern part of the Czech Republic within the project Chytří pomocníci ve výuce aneb využíváme IT jednoduše a kreativně (Smart Helpers in Education or the Use of ICT in an Easy and Creative Way), reg. n. CZ.1.07/1.3.00/51.0009).Keywords:
