Abstract:
The essay relates the goals and the principal ideas of the project IEDUCARTS. This project is starting because of the almost total absence in the curriculum of the relation between different arts. In fact, widely understood, artistic education belongs to the curricula of both, the current compulsory studies and high school diploma. The main objectives of the project are to create an international net of collaborators; to review the didactic audition guides of some outstanding opera halls setting in the co-workers’ countries and to elaborate a theoretical corpus of the issue.

Since there is not much literature that gives a holistic vision of arts education, the first methodological step will be the bibliographic review to set the “state of the question”. Later, the contribution of the different international collaborators, belonging to different disciplines such as literature, music and visual arts, will offer the chance to develop didactic materials in order to obtain a global approach to the artistic fact, working in an interdisciplinary way.

As a conclusion, it could be said that the artificial disconnection of the arts in isolated fields -literature, music, visual arts, etc.- in the curriculum of the compulsory education led to consider more important studying them specifically than showing the interconnection between them. Therefore, it is intended to research the didactic possibilities and the relationship between different artistic languages to create specific proposals in order to work on them through the opera.
