Abstract:
This paper analyses the structure and characteristics of a learning situation designed to improve the acquisition of financial competencies in primary school students.
The design of the learning situations developed in this study is based on the European Union's financial competencies framework for children and young people (European Commission and the OECD's International Network on Financial Education) and on Spanish educational regulations, as set forth in Royal Decree 157/2022 on the organization and minimum teaching standards for primary education.
The initial hypothesis is that the acquisition of financial competencies occurs transversally, across the different subjects of the primary curriculum and through various areas such as mathematics and the social, natural, and cultural environment. The theoretical design is complemented by the development of an activity for primary school students, which will be identified as a learning situation. A list of recommended children's books related to financial concepts is attached. Keywords:
