Abstract:
The National Financial Education Plan 2022-2025 is promoted by the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), the National Central Bank of Spain (BdE) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation. One of their objectives for the aforementioned period is the elaboration of pedagogical materials for primary school students and they are specified in two areas established by the OECD, such as money and transactions and planning and management of finances. These future materials will be the guides to teachers to convey the concepts incorporated into the curricula of each autonomous community.
Once the context has been established, the paper will analyze two aspects: 1) the competences through its three dimensions: knowledge (knowing), skills and aptitudes (knowing how to do) and motivation and attitudes (knowing how to be) that should be required of these professionals in order to introduce with solvency financial concepts to children and 2) the existence of national and international programs aimed at training primary school teachers who do not have to be knowledgeable about this subject. Keywords:
