Abstract:

Every employee of the security forces, both in Slovakia and abroad, uses a security equipment when performing his job. Its purpose is to provide the owner with sufficient protection of the person as such, or to use it effectively against a potential attacker. These are usually security equipment such as tonfas, a telescopic baton or tear spray, while the main disadvantage of these devices is that their members do not know or cannot use them effectively. The current training and education they participate in is based on old videos that do not reflect current needs and that focus on the resource as such rather than the way it is used.

Our goal as well as the contribution is to point out the advantages of a new form of teaching security staff, an educational program, to effectively demonstrate the use of the tool to another person. That is, what happens to the human body when it is hit, how much force needs to be expended on a hard blow and the like. The tactics of using safety equipment are an integral part of our proposal for a new form of teaching. Respectively, it could be said that this is some form of self-defence. The first graduates, who also completed an old, regular course, took part in the proposed educational program, and thus provided us with several ideas and suggestions for improving our educational program.
