Abstract:
COVID-19 has affected people's lives around the world and in all industries. One of them is undoubtedly education in all levels and forms of education. Both students and teachers had to learn how to learn in a virtual space, which was quite challenging for many, both technically and mentally. Many students gradually suffered from depression and various complexes due to the absence of physical contact with classmates. University students were no exception, who, in addition to socializing at school, also missed the ones in boarding schools.

Paradoxically, the worst were first-year students who, due to a pandemic and a virtual form of teaching, could not cope with the transition to education at a university that is focused on independence. However, it was not different in other grades where, paradoxically, students used the possibility of more frequent part-time jobs, which resulted in the termination of studies or the transition to between grades.

The article is focused on the analysis of the change in the number of students, which was directly affected by the pandemic situation of COVID-19. The results of the analysis for the last period are compared with the same periods before from previous years. As part of the evaluation of the analysis, the article also contains proposals for measures that should prevent the outflow of students in the future in the event of another pandemic situation.
