Abstract:
Educational policy of training a new generation of engineers is in need in making system of practical-oriented education, professional cooperation between representatives from education and practical engineering. It involves the participation of employers in training specialists, which can be expressed as in the invitation practitioners to participate in the educational process and in the organization and provision practices for future specialists at the forefront of domestic and foreign enterprises. However, project attitudes are divorced from reality. Even in the universities, which already launched mechanism of professional cooperation, assessment of major changes in the professional training of engineers is ambiguous. There is a massive detachment of higher technical education from real production. The lack of effective incentives for building and strengthening the links between educational and professional teams to a great extent reduces the level of professional ensuring of engineering.

The article summarizes regional research, tracking the changes occurring in the technical universities of Sverdlovsk region in connection with the ongoing modernization of education. It evaluated such an important aspect of modernization, as the interaction of education and industry. There is a big gap between present level of competences and desirable competences level of technical universities graduates. First of all, it is referred to such competencies as "the presence of the integrated conception of the industry, an understanding of the economic context of its functioning", "experience of cooperation with the real sector." The formation of an effective system of practice-oriented education requires implementation of a new organizational forms of interaction of universities and industrial enterprises.

Conclusions of researchers relied on a data from a survey of expert engineers of large industrial enterprises of the Ural Federal District, teachers of engineering disciplines of HEI of the Sverdlovsk region and post-graduate students of STEM-directions.
