Abstract:
The article examines the problems and contradictions of Russian higher technical education in the context of technological modernization. The main task of the authors is to fix the current situation by forming a new generation of technical specialists in large industrial regions.
According to expert opinions of key actors of academic and professional regional engineering community assess the state of engineering education, its compliance with the needs of the modern labor market, the level and factors of prestige engineering professions, the importance and actual development of key competences of the modern engineer.
Comparative analysis of expert stakeholder evaluations gave the contradictions in the formation and realization of new models in engineering education. Negative assessment of the level of prestige engineering professions of the current state of the national engineering education accompanied by ambiguous assessments of conformity of engineering training requirements and demands of the modern labor market.
Orientation of specialities of technical students is creativity, elite character of the work which is leveled in the learning process by existing actions technical colleges on the "service" of existing technologies, the actual needs of the engineering units and projects.
Realization of educational programs focused on training of specialists to the needs of specific industries, meets the needs of of the regional labor market, reproduces the tradition of mass engineering education but does not solve the problem of the quality and innovation of engineering training. The actual level of development of engineering competence is much lower than meaningful and desirable.
Particular attention is paid to institutional aspects and problems of the educational training engineering personnel of high qualification. The study of the motives, target installations, difficulties in training, individual professional trajectories Masters and PhD students of STEM-direction fixed the gap between declared and actual models of the training of engineers.
Conclusions of researchers relied on data of expert surveys of engineers of large industrial enterprises in the Ural region and teachers of technical high schools; results of formalized interview with masters and postgraduates of technical directions of preparation, a secondary analysis of the monitoring data of socio-cultural attitudes and professional values of students of technical specialties.
