The outlined tasks required the use of the following methods. Wide range of scientific and methodological literature was analysed, and various information sources were assessed. A quantitative research strategy was chosen to gain the research objective. A questionnaire survey was held to accumulate data. The survey was conducted remotely in October and November 2022.
Every culture has its own language norms, and while expressing ideas from the native to a foreign language can lead to misunderstanding or misjudgment of the speaker. In interethnic communication in a foreign language, particularly English, the communicants often seek to emphasize their national and cultural affiliation and apply pragmatic norms that are characteristic of their own languages and cultures, which generally favorably affects the outcome of communication.
The research findings allow us to contemplate the technical university teachers’ attitude and outlook in the matter of different features of communication culture in teaching English as a second or foreign language. Keywords:
