The present study discusses the utilization of the technique of the interview in the educational praxis. It renders a presentation of the discussion within the literature review which designates the interview, apart from a research data collection tool, as a potentially well-structured educational activity with a sequence of predetermined stages with each one being able to serve various educational purposes and produce qualitative learning results. The key target of the educational utilization of the interview is knowledge production by the students themselves, whether they take on the role of the interviewee or the interviewer. The students are trained to investigate particular issues critically, to pose questions and make assumptions, to express themselves freely, to support their opinions and build arguments.

According to the above reasoning and focusing on the basic principles of media education, a prototype educational e- scenario was structured and implemented (within the frame of the research program “Creation for educational scenarios based on ICT”, Center of the Greek Language, Thessaloniki, Greece). The main goal was the initiation of the students to the rules of inquiry-based learning through the method of the interview using ICT/media. The scenario was planned focusing on the cooperative learning and implemented in an adequate number of students (aged 11 years old) of Psychico College within the frame of the subject of Greek Language. As a first step, the students comprehended the rules of the method of an interview using interactive learning material. They were later asked to create different types of semi-structured interviews (using notes, voice recorder, videos, e-mail, telephone, Skype), to take an interview from specific subjects and record the collected data. The final projects were uploaded on the School’s Course Management System (CMS). The assessment of the project was constant and conducted in a multitude of ways.
