Abstract:
This paper presents the preliminary results of the "DIGITAL STUDENT COMMUNITY: THIRD SECTOR, UNIVERSITY AND GENDER" project. The aim of this teaching innovation project is to create a digital community of students from the University of Valencia in which they can share their interest and involvement with the third sector. In order to achieve this, we conduct along with the students live interviews to women who develop their professional careers in non-profit entities (associations, foundations and NGOs); interviews in which the rest of the community members will be able to participate by formulating questions from various perspectives, according to the degree they are studying.

Through these activities, four goals are to be met:
1) the creation of an interdisciplinary community of 18 degree students from the University of Valencia from different fields of knowledge (12), where the barriers that currently exist to socialize between departments, faculties and campuses disappear,
2) the promotion of direct contact with an empowered citizenry to stimulate the active participation of university students in civil society,
3) the recognition of women who promote non-profit organizations,
4) the strengthening of oral communication and teamwork, transversal and essential skills in the execution of future professional tasks.

In addition, another purpose of this project is to achieve greater student motivation. For this reason, the participating staff have consulted the students to get to know their concerns and interests, and thus adapt the project to the reality of each group involved. This project aims to encourage the interaction of students with civil society specially from the first university courses, through knowledge of the work of associations, foundations and NGOs, and especially the key role that women play in these entities.
