Abstract:
The changes that are happening today and modern students require the inclusion of new educational technologies. The need to create innovative educational methods and different types of digital learning resources, in the medical training of health professionals is becoming increasingly important. This study presents some of the challenges in developing digital resources for applications in medical education. The report explores the need to include non-traditional innovative educational technologies and digital learning resources that can be used by the medical students. The main point of the study is optimizing of training methods and techniques for measuring, recording and evaluating vital signs.

The use of video methods and additional digital educational resources in medical education in Bulgaria has been studied. A conceptual model of video algorithms and techniques in the field of measurement, registration and evaluation of patients' vital signs is presented. Measurements and patient digital data collection in the Holter monitoring system are discussed in more detail (12-lead Holter electrocardiography). The opinions of the students majoring in obstetrics at the Medical University in Varna on the need to provide additional educational resources on topics for techniques for measuring, recording and evaluating vital signs were studied and analyzed. The methodology for video algorithms for techniques for measuring a Holter surveillance system is substantiated.

The model is suitable for training different groups of medical students such as nurses or midwives and can be used in one of the most popular online environments such as YouTube. The results of the present studies were applied in research project. The findings of the study are that the need to optimize training by introducing modern digital educational technologies and digital resources in the field of measurement, registration and evaluation of vital signs is indisputable to ensure patient safety.
