Abstract:
Introduction:
This work presents an educational approach in which, through the use of ICTs, is intended to facilitate to all types of students the accessibility to the content taught in the classroom. The initiative has a double aspect, which has been developed for achieving specific objectives: firstly, promotion of quality in higher education and secondly, prevention through the integration of all students. This may be achieved by increasing the threshold of care for people with special needs associated with sensory disabilities. Consistent with this, and due to the heterogeneity of the students that compose the classrooms, the adaptation of the study material is developed through documentary resources. Thus, innovation takes place raised from an inclusive approach taking into consideration common and individual needs associated with a limitation or sensory disabilities.
Objectives:
The initiative has been developed for achieving two general objectives:
- The promotion of quality in higher education.
- Prevention of quality in the higher education.
Methodology, activities and processes developed by the team during the implementation of the project:
The innovation is based on an updated response to the learning needs of students in general but also of students with a sensory, auditory or visual disabilities in particular, so that the use of technology to transmit information adapts academic conditions using the means at our disposal. Thus audiovisual training materials are developed by making use of multimedia resources to introduce the essence of the subject to be taught from two perspectives:
-VISUAL. We use writing and sign language to overcome the audiovisual auditory threshold
-SOUND. We use conceptual narrative of matter orally to overcome the visual threshold. All students has access to the resources from a virtual platform that contains, for each subject: a schedule for use of audiovisual material, study material, questions, etc. Furthermore, to ensure a good result prior personal interview will be held.
Expected results:
Considering the overall circumstances, students for the first time, will be provided with academic material which during the formative period would, firstly, facilitate the conceptual understanding from the point of view of the novelty and difficulty of the subject taught and from the terms of overcoming possible thresholds of communication and, secondly, motivates the reasoning of the subject essential contents.
-In response to individual circumstances, it will involve the overcome of the auditory, visual and sensory disability barriers of students with associated limitations.
-Students will become familiar with the handling of virtual platforms for monitoring the theoretical and practical content.
-Implementation of an innovative Model Training in Physiotherapy for planning training programs for the inclusion and integration to ensure best material adjustment to the academic reality and effectiveness between subjects. Keywords:
