Abstract:
Our research focuses on the perception of the situation connected with the quarantine period of the Covid-19 pandemic. Data were conducted from Apr. 30 to May 31, 2020. The representative sample consisted of 493 students (male=294, female=199) of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava, Slovakia. We used the method of an online questionnaire. We have divided it, according to the information obtained from the other researches and the opinions of experts, into six main parts concerning the anxiety, prevailing emotions, locus of control, helpful factors, changes in behaviour, and subjectively perceived negative and positive aspects of the situation. Our goal is to identify the key aspects related to the perception of the situation and to verify the correlations between the main stressors, emotions, coping strategies and the age, gender, grade, form of study, employment, probability of loss of employment, type of working arrangements (such as home office, work from the office), and the length of the quarantine. Our results show there are significant differences according to the respondents' characteristics.
