Abstract:
The general opinion of the teachers who have applied active methodologies in the classroom is that it clearly improves the academic performance of their students. In our research group, we want to check this statement and see to what degree these improvements are significant and, to do so, we will use analysis through multi-level models, also called hierarchical models.
In educational research, finding the factors that influence students' academic performance is a key issue. Furthermore, the influence that, apart from the individual characteristics of students, the features of the groups, teachers or centres or faculties have on student progress is an issue that has always been present in the educational field. Establishing this hierarchy between the different variables, that is, recognising that different individuals belong to different groups, is not a gratuitous act as it has important consequences when analysing the data. This paper presents the models to be applied to carry out the study. Keywords:
