Abstract:
Nowadays Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are taking more and more place in the teaching process. One of the most used tool is Moodle platform. Moodle can be used as a Course Management System (CMS), and it is a free web application that educators can use to create effective online learning sites. Its characteristic of being free has made it the widest of this type of platforms in the world, but this characteristic is also a handicap because it has some limitations to develop the teaching tasks in and out of the classroom, since it lacks flexibility to design the course as teacher wants. On the other hand, this freedom is also a big advantage for programming and contributing with new modules of Moodle that will permit to improve the teaching and learning processes.

Our research team is developing a new module of Moodle that will work as an autotest module for students of Engineering. The module will have different levels of difficulties in different subjects. That is, students will check their knowledge level with typical feedbacks and, as they obtain better qualifications, these students will pass from one level to other more difficult level. Obviously teachers can obtain different reports about the learning process of the students.
