Abstract:
Information technology has more and more influence on the social development. The information technology processes affect all social practices and all spaces of people in the modern society. Information technology influences economic, political, cultural and educational changes. In these circumstances information technology is becoming one of the main and leading factors of the economic and cultural development. At the same time, the knowledge, that is the product of the development of information technology, is positioned as one of the driving forces of the progress of human civilization. Invading the areas of culture and education, this technology leads to their transformation and reconstruction in line with the tendencies of the development of information civilization. Therefore, one of the relevant problems of our time is studying the influence of modern technologies in the context of usage of the cultural and scientific heritage of ancient scientists. The mathematical heritage of Al-Farabi is one of these cultural heritages.
Al-Farabi is one the greatest scientists, thinkers and encyclopedists of the early medieval period. He was born in Kazakhstan and belonged to the ancient Turkic tribes that formed the basis of the current Kazakh nation.
Physics and mathematics occupy a large part of Al-Farabi’s scientific research. In his treatises Al-Farabi proposed the unique algorithms for the numerous compass and ruler geometric constructions, including the problems, where the accurate construction was not possible.
Besides geometry, well-developed trigonometry takes a special place in the mathematical studies of Al-Farabi. In the parts of the studies, dedicated to trigonometry, Al-Farabi presented a series of problems on determination of the chord of a quarter, a third, a tenth and a fifth of the round, the problem on determination of the value of the complement chord by the known arc chord, as well as the problems on determination of the chord of the sum and difference of two arcs and other tasks.
Al-Farabi’s music belongs to the mathematical science. According to the traditional interpretation of music as a mathematical science, Al-Farabi’s music is included in the mathematics, based on its numerical methods of expression of musical elements, i.e., sounds, rhythmical units (lengths) as values and quantities, and methods of their calculus.
The usage of historical information during the lesson will emphasize its practical significance, will increase the interest of students to the studied material and will enhance its assimilation.
At the same time, the usage of information technology will increase the study motivation, will ensure the interest of students and, that is very important, will improve the efficiency and quality of education. It is possible to use information technology due to the uniqueness of Al-Farabi’s research, that is, the algorithmic approach to mathematical solutions and application of his research.
In view of the foregoing, one should note that with the help of information technology the approaches of the development of digital tools have been identified. At the moment these digital tools are being used in the educational process; and the main objective of our research is to define how to use information technology. Keywords:
Information technology, education, mathematical heritage of Al-Farabi, a digital resource.
