EDUCATIONAL APPROACHES FOR CULTURAL DIVERSITY IN SALVADORAN MARGINAL CONTEXTS
El Salvador is a country where more than half of the population has emigrated, while it has immigrants and its own cultural diversity. Taking into account this idiosyncrasy, this document presents different artistic approaches developed in the Iberia Community of San Salvador, a conflictive point par excellence in a country ravaged by the destruction implicit in the development of youth gangs. The educational process that was developed was understood as globalized, but guaranteeing the understanding of cultural otherness as beneficial for a peaceful coexistence; in fact, it was a question of knowing one's own in order to appreciate and respect it, giving the students greater self-esteem. Artistic Education, which included Music, Painting, Theater and Dance, was the framework where the different proposals aimed at establishing bonds of union, of peaceful coexistence, were framed, from the existing links between the different artistic manifestations of each culture. Thus, these various development cooperation projects from Art Education became, at the same time, points of cultural union and violence prevention.
