Abstract:
In the paper, the principles of formation, operation and development of the university and the faculty education assurance and quality assessment systems in Poland on the example of selected universities of technology and faculties educating in the field of "civil engineering", will be presented. The main aims of the university education quality assurance system are: shaping the attitudes of pro-quality in the academic environment, building a culture of quality education by inspiring and organizing activities for quality assurance and improvement of training and monitoring of these activities in universities; constant monitoring of the quality of education; creating procedures for periodic and systematic assessment of the quality of education; providing permanent public access to the existing education programs for all levels and types of studies conducted at the university. Directly connected to the university quality systems are faculty quality assurance systems working in order to guarantee a high quality of education for the specific field of study. The principles of their functioning are in details defined by the faculty councils. One of the most important effect of introducing such two-level system is constant verification of study programs and their developing and adaptation to the challenges for the changing world.
