Abstract:
Selected examples of application of multimedia and the Internet techniques in teaching basic and professional subjects for the field of civil engineering will be presented in the paper. For many years there have been introduced in education at both faculties multimedia lectures, together with the transfer of didactic materials via the Internet, as well as various forms of verification of knowledge and skills of students using the teaching platform. The use of computer aided education technologies (for e-teaching and e-learning) it should be a supplement to traditional teaching methods based on the direct contact between academicians and students for full-time studies. However, it can be the basic form of sharing and transfering knowledge for education at part-time studies and for Life Long Learning, being a substantially assist in the verification process of students’ skills and competences. There will also be referred formal procedures enabling realization of such forms of teaching and presented own experience, and future development and challenges.
