Abstract:
Previous modules of teaching and learning were not well designed to be taught and assessed in an online education environment. During the pandemics, teaching staff had to rapidly adapt to meet the situation head on. This paper work considers the effect of the crisis on the professional practice of Austrian tertiary teachers in online teaching. In this paper work, authors‘ considered which significant factors, skills, evaluation methods in online teaching are important and what factors faculty may handle in the future of integrating online teaching. An online survey in google forms was created to gather the data. Most respondents (53.68%) are experienced in blended mode. To design, develop and execute quality online teaching, institutions must mature the most important teachers’ skills: Adaptability, Patience, Communication skills and Use of feedback. Findings from the survey confirmed the critical importance of positive perceptions of online teaching, technological engagement, financial support and access to a supportive culture of online teaching including blended mode. This paper work then goes on to consider, the implications for future course design in the post-pandemic environment.
