Abstract:

This education work is composed by a proposed exercise that consists in a webquest powerpoint tutorial that is accomplished by university students. This tutorial explains fundamental thermodynamics concepts required in order to calculate a proposed refrigeration installation. This webquest tutorial continually refers to free software from different refrigeration companies, where students can calculate and select cooling components in order to design refrigeration installations. This familiarizes students with computer applications closer to industrial reality than mere theoretical calculations.

This exercise pretends that performing webquest powerpoint tutorial, students acquire the ability to design/select basic elements that compose a refrigeration system by calculating different parameters and querying catalogs from different manufacturers (Refrigeration links considered important by the teacher).We also believe that this initiative can be applied to any other installation design subject.
