Abstract:
The purpose of this document is to show an educational alternative through the use of the Geogebra software in a learning activity based on the Active Learning Methodology in their mode of Interactive Lecture Demonstration classes carried on virtual learning environments for the vectors addition in 2D in high school level. It explores how, to what extent and under what circumstances and conditions Information & Communication Technology can modify the conceptual students learning the subject in which they are incorporated. The designed learning activity leads students to solve predictions, discuss between peer what is written and reach a group prediction once made the learning activity, and analyze results obtained compared with their initial prediction. By last; they solve a final conceptual assessment questionnaire, this activity is carried out in a discussion forum for answers. An improvement shown in conceptual learning for the vectors addition using technology, which opens the possibility of improving the educational process; as shown in the results, they reveal an increase in student interest through the use of technology and an increase in profit in the conceptual learning. It is important to note the shift of focus to the study of how the incorporation of Information & Communication Technology into formal learning processes and school change educational practices, because of the need to change the learning strategies to address adequately the educational process through the use of Information & Communication Technology. The issue is applied in the teaching of vector algebra in high school level to cause the difficulties that students have, they intend the vectors addition as if they were scalar without understanding that their treatment is different. The learning activity was designed with the intent of being used by classroom teachers with their classes like blended learning or to be used in e-learning courses.
