COMPLEXITY OF RELATIONS BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN

“The degree of freedom of a society is measured by rights women have” (Desanti, 1984). In our study on the situation of women's sport, conducted with a group of thirty women (workers, academic, school and home) and whose objective was to know why there are few practitioners in Algeria, we asked a single question, namely: why, girls and women in general, interested in little or no physical activity and sport in particular?

It is important to emphasize that all the causes mentioned are not by chance but were the subject of many studies, science, and eyewitness accounts. And to answer these questions, we issue the following assumptions:
- We defend the idea that, there are undoubtedly environmental barriers related to family configurations, which mixed, feelings of pride, of honor family and religious prohibitions, which obstruct the realization of the legitimate aspirations of these sports. Among the many reasons given by women and identified in the literature, an initial screening is already done. Only 09 proposals that have received a high number of favorable responses are kept. The sample consists of twenty experts with field experience (teachers, coaches, ) and forty young women (half of which practice a sport in an organized setting ) . These choices are not fortuitous.

Two different tools were used for data collection, namely:
- An evaluation table for experts to assess the true causes of women unselfishness has regard to sport.
- A questionnaire with the same reasons or causes to know the views of practitioners

All data, assessment and questionnaires were collected between the months of May and the month November 2014.
The assessment of the experts gave the results as classified below and were not selected only in the first six proposals, so that not to cause dispersion of data. The results of the evaluation carried out by experts, attributes the first place in the "practical climate"The area of freedom of women is controlled by Family disapproval, disapproval of the environment, and the social system “Women are placed in a position of domination by men who express themselves in different ways: physical, economic, and symbolic” (Bourdieu, 1998)
