Abstract:
YouTube has become the audiovisual content platform with the greatest penetration in the world, which is why people of all ages have bet on the generation of content in this space, in search of visibility, popularity and perhaps also monetization of its content. Kids are not exempt from this activity. Around the world hundreds of them have jumped to fame through these platforms, generating new audiences for the contents that are part of their proposals and millions of dollars in revenue. The objective of this research is to study the most influential channels of kids youtubers in the Andean Community. A mixed methodology was applied for this purpose. Firstly, a ranking of the first kids youtubers in the 4 countries under study was made by means of a file. Also, a video content analysis was implemented with a greater number of visualizations of each youtuber. The analysis contemplated variables that allowed to know the type of content they publish, the discourse, and resources they use, which shows their level of media competence. Among the main results, it is evident that the contents in entertainment format are the ones that predominate and most of them develop themes according to the age of the youtubers. Similarly, the expressive and descriptive and self-referential functions of their speeches are the most common in the videos studied.
