Abstract:
The use and appropriation of the Internet of things –IoT grows exponentially, as well as their applications in areas such as education and healthcare. The universities have innovated in the educational models wherein the most important is the application of knowledge in troubleshooting supported in real environments. In this context, the learning of the IoT needs both technological and operational infrastructure to ensure their application and transfer in the academic and non-academic partnership. In Colombia, despite the efforts of public and private investment in infrastructure IoT, it requires new strategies that permit to share resources and build communities around this new technology and minimize costs. Therefore, the Research Group in Telemedicine has developed a Hub-IoT based on Software as a Service –SaaS architecture with web server synchronized by mean to Oracle Linux to cloud Server for providing academic and research services to students and professor in order to IoT healthcare applications. The services offered by Hub-IoT has technical and operational requirements similar to a commercial provider that guaranteed high-quality and availability. The results about use Hub-IoT service has allowed Building Academic Communities around culture, healthcare, and science with University of Santiago of Chile, Federal University of São Paulo, INSA Institute of France, GISSIC research group and EyS solutions company from Colombia. Actually, with integration IoT Services we are offering a reconfigurable architecture according to requirements' user based on your applications with a heterogeneous network of low cost.
