Abstract:
The poster presents findings from the initial phase of the research in the area of students´ learning support focused on identifying and describing potential scaffolding elements included in the Czech textbooks used by teachers and students in the lower secondary schools.

Research deals with the basic question: What scaffolding Czech textbooks provide for pupils and what scaffolding strategies can we identify in them? The content analysis of textbooks and other educational resources has become the methodological concept. The theoretical background was sociocultural approaches, the scaffolding concept and the framework for scaffolding strategies analysis (van de Pol et al., 2012; Jumaat&Zaidatun, 2014; Horsley, 2015 etc.). The result presented in this poster is the created typology of educational scaffolding with regard to its type, purpose and means with practical examples from Czech textbooks.
