Abstract:
In the Federal republic, the number of students in need of special educational support hardly
has almost doubled since the year 2000.

We may state that despite all efforts of inclusive education there is a tendency towards separating educational offers. In Berlin, the “Übergang (Transition)” project – an approach of supporting difficult children as well as their reference persons – could be developed, which contributes to the success of inclusive education also of children with disturbed social behaviour.

The current survey on the “Übergang” project shows that inclusive education may be successful in forms 1-3 of primary school if, by way of giving advice to parents and teachers, of cooperation of school and youth aid, as well as by way of a temporary learning group relieving both difficult students as well as the overall group and the teachers, one succeeds with practicing recognition and acceptance, even despite serious behavioural disturbances at school.
