Abstract:
This study looks at the importance of fostering creativity, entrepreneurship and future-oriented thinking in a cooperative environment. We present the preliminary results of the Creative Internprize initiative, which is a two-year project funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships for Vocational education and training (VET) programme. It is a partnership of eleven organisations (universities, vocational schools and training providers, schools and non-profit organisations) under the leadership of Akdeniz University of Antalya, Turkey. The main goal is to promote work-based learning in all its forms and to generate opportunities for start-up put into practice for the creative industries in VET, mainly schools and higher education institutions. We also present the key aspects to be included in a training kit, and our proposal has benefits for both the students and lecturers involved. We find that promoting creativity and entrepreneurial skills is crucial, and to that end the main tool used is the Business Model Canvas, supplemented with other techniques to generate ideas. The paper concludes by outlining future challenges facing students in relation to entrepreneurship and the creative industries, with extensive feedback collected during the first year of the project by all the partners of the education community.
