Abstract:
The growing accumulation of electronic waste on our planet represents one of the most pressing environmental challenges of the modern era. As technology advances by leaps and bounds, so does the amount of electronic devices that are discarded, creating significant environmental and public health issues. In this context, raising awareness about the proper management of electronic waste emerges as a crucial strategy to mitigate these negative impacts.

To address this issue, a methodology focused on raising awareness about the appropriate management of electronic waste was implemented through informal informational talks aimed at high school and higher education students, focusing mainly on those enrolled in Mechanical Engineering courses. This educational strategy was supported by a review of relevant literature, providing a solid theoretical foundation for discussions and idea exchange during the sessions.

The outcomes of these interventions proved to be promising, as participants demonstrated significant awareness regarding the importance of properly discarding electronic devices. The majority recognized the importance of appropriately separating these materials, not only as a responsible practice on an individual level but also for their positive impact on the environment. They particularly emphasized the reduction of pollution and the promotion of a recycling culture as key benefits resulting from proper electronic waste management.
