Abstract:
How learning is measured internally on the “Collective Learning” platform is complex because of how the results obtained during participation are analysed. The following presentation describes how students value their learning within the platform. In summary, the most highly valued aspects were the following. The ability to express their ideas and feelings thanks to anonymity: to be able to give their opinion without restrictions and to find other students who agreed with their arguments on the platform. This anonymity is valued, not to make jokes, but to be on an equal footing with the rest. In this way, being able to express themselves without being negatively affected by their personal relationships was highly valued. Being able to know the opinion of others: on issues that affect them and their immediate environment in their daily lives, improve their ideas and make new responses that can help others. They highlight the positive aspect of being able to compare their ideas with others in order to learn or modify their attitude to the case they are working on. Participation with other schools: as this type of activity is not usually carried out, it has allowed pupils to get to know other pupils from different schools, enabling them to work side by side and get to know their opinions. The closeness of the cases to their own reality: the students consider that the cases they have been able to work on in the platform are very close to their daily lives and that they and other classmates could be affected by them. Stopping to reflect on their attitudes and how they handle different situations has been a very positive aspect. The general dynamics of the activity: in general, the dynamics of the platform related to being able to copy the ideas of others or modify their own ideas to achieve a better response throughout their participation in real time is valued positively. Finally, the negative aspects highlighted by the students are also discussed, as well as the teachers' opinions regarding the use of the digital tool as a new e-learning tool.
