Abstract:
Introduction: Collective intelligence arose as a statistical construct that made it possible to measure the statistical performance of a large group of people in comparison with the performance of small groups. The results of most studies focused on Collective Intelligence have shown that this premise is fulfilled, but there are several factors to take into account to make it possible, especially in online environments. Thus, we describe the Collective Intelligence platform "Collective learning", its process of interaction between participants supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the way it is used, in order to check how it improves the knowledge or competences to be worked on. Method: through its use, a first experience with this platform is analysed in a group of 793 students in the first year of high school when faced with a moral dilemma based on a case of sexting among adolescents. The data obtained were categorised taking into account Kohlberg's (1976) model of moral reasoning. Results: the results show an improvement in the participants' levels of moral reasoning in one of the questions when comparing the results after their interactions between the beginning and the end of the experiment. Discussion: the relevance of the "Collective learning" platform for the acquisition or improvement of competences is discussed on the basis of the results obtained in previous research. Its impact on other educational stages is raised and the following lines of research that have been carried out or are currently being researched are mentioned.
