The research strategy was a quantitative research study carried out by means of a questionnaire survey including 22 secondary schools of various types; the overall number of respondents was 1,393. The results were evaluated on the basis of predetermined research assumptions and hypotheses, and were summarised in overview tables and graphs. The research data were statistically processed by means of the Student’s t-test and ANOVA analysis of variance. The results of the research study will serve as a basis for a repeated research study aimed at students in grade three of grammar schools, which is planned for April – June 2018. The implementation of the repeated research study will provide basic data for a comparative analysis with the results of the previous research in order to achieve better understanding of the issue of using computer games among students in grade three of grammar schools in the Czech Republic. Keywords:
