Abstract:
Nowadays Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a technology that sets the direction for development in architecture, engineering and construction (AEC). It is an advantage if a student already in college has the opportunity to acquire skills to work with specialized BIM platform software. One of the goals of the project KEGA-059TUKE-4/2017 “Supporting the Skills in Using BIM Technology in a Building Life-Cycle” was to provide students with information about software products supporting BIM with an available student license. Within the fulfillment of the set goal, close cooperation was established with representatives of four companies: ŠTOR CAD - GRAITEC s.r.o .; ALLPLAN Česko, s.r.o. (member of the Nemetschek Group); CAD EXPERT s.r.o (exclusive distributor of ArchiCAD in Slovakia); CONSTRUSOFT, s.r.o. (Representative of Trimble, Tekla). The team of KEGA researchers from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Technical University in Košice analyzed the processes, from design to demolition of the building. They assigned to the processes the specification of project documentation created in the construction life-cycle by experts of various construction specializations. They provided tabular data to software companies. Working teams of software companies, based on an analysis of their BIM software products, added specialized software with a contact to obtain a student license. The result of the cooperation will be presented.
