Abstract:
The submitted paper focuses on introducing and explaining the educational project aimed at adoption of digital technologies in the learning process to support the platform Construction 4.0. The project is currently underway at the The Faculty of Civil Engineering (FCE) in Košice.

The project responds to activities of the European Community on the platform Industry 4.0 that aim to promote competitiveness, employment and quality of life. The Industry 4.0 implies mainly application of digitalization, technological innovations and robotic technologies. The revolutionary changes in society that are strongly associated with digital technologies affect all areas of social life as well as industrial production and construction sector. The platform Construction 4.0 requires for not only knowledge reform but above all skills reform. The current demand of construction practice is to increase knowledge and skills of graduates of the FCE in the area of adoption and use of digital technologies in the process of construction projects planning and executing as well as in facility management of buildings and to support skills of civil engineers in the area of team-work through BIM technologies. The aim of the project is to increase knowledge, skills, critical thinking and key competence of graduates of the study programs Technology and Management in Construction and Execution of Traffic Buildings in the study specialization “Construction”. This will be achieved through adoption of software tools, digital technologies and their technical support in education of specialized courses and through adoption of BIM software tools in courses intent on building designing. The innovation of educational methods at 1st and 2nd grade of university education through wider use of Learning Management System Moodle (TUKEmoodle) is also included in the project goals.

Both tangible and intangible goals of the project, the methods applied to achieve the goals and expected results of the project are presented and described in the paper.
