Abstract:
Paper is based on results of a new survey among the Czech young people in the age 10 – 15. The goal of the text is to analyze selection of role models, idols and life ideals among contemporary young Czech population, describe attributes and characteristics which children admire on their idols, analyse the context and motivation of possible identification with them. It can be considered as important and inspiring both in the area of sociological understanding of reality and characteristics of contemporary postmodern society, and in the sphere of psychological study of human personality and child socialization. It has also a big impact on contemporary education and the educational environment. The text shows the main areas and personalities that influence today´s young generation. However, it describes position of family members, celebrities and other important others in their lives and thinking. It is focused on describing differences in age, sex and other characteristics of respondents and shows the main trends in this area. As a result, there is a discussion about its´ educational application.
