Abstract:
Current studies relating to distance learning, focused on the effectiveness of learning and the characteristics of the advantages and disadvantages of this way of teaching. Among the benefits of e-learning are: the reduced costs of learning, associated with the absence of the need to rent a flat, travel to the university, as well as time savings and the ability to use materials from anywhere in the world. Individual and environmental factors that increase the effectiveness and satisfaction of distance learning are also analysed (Barłóg, Stradomska, 2020; Bahçekapılı, Karaman, 2020; Cidral et al. 2018; Martin-Martinez et al. 2020, Yilmaz, Keser, 2016).
However, e-learning also has disadvantages, the main one being reduced contact with other students. The limitation of meetings with peers, especially during the pandemic when all social contacts have been restricted by lockdown, can be particularly severe for the quality of students' functioning. This paper presents the results of our own research, conducted on a group of 143 students at one of the universities, on student relationships and assessment of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The results include a survey and qualitative research - conducted using the ITI method. The results were analysed quantitatively and qualitatively using the N-Vivo software. Both the quality of relationships during remote teaching and their relationship to teaching effectiveness were analysed.
The advantages and disadvantages of online teaching were also examined in the perspective of the blended-learning model, which seems to be the most optimal solution (Barłóg, Stradomska, 2020). Based on the results of the study, possibilities to improve interpersonal relations at the university were also discussed. The article presents conclusions and recommendations regarding the perspective of maintaining proper relations by students and the chances of supporting them by the academic community. Keywords:
