Abstract:
The issue of the education of the Roma minority is complex, as there are no Romani language public education institutions in Slovakia. Pupils belonging to the Roma ethnic minority therefore have no option but to attend public education institutions with Slovak or Hungarian as the language of instruction depending on where they are living and which language they speak at home. The aim of my study is to pinpoint into which curricular class activities or co-curricular activities the topic of Roma literature could be included in primary schools with Hungarian as the language of instruction. In the study, Roma literature is approached from a pedagogical perspective, both as a medium that has an important role in creating and raising awareness of Roma cultural identity and, from the point of view of the majority medium, as a corpus that can be used to create and promote a positive attitude towards Roma culture.

In my research, I identified three areas where the topic of Roma literature might be included in the process of education and in co-curricular activities. The first area covers activities specified by various curricula, which are actually activities divided into classes by a curriculum, the second area includes extra-curricular activities, and the third area covers school ceremonies.
