Abstract:
The need for an adequate response to the challenges of the digital economy in the 21st century has put modern schools ahead of the priority of developing modern competencies for young students: from working in a digital environment to creating this digital environment for their work. In the Russian Federation, the government had taken measures to intensify the training processes for the digital economy within the framework of the federal program "Digital Economy" and the national project "Education". The purpose of the article is to consider the experience of the Russian Federation in the formation of competencies for the digital economy in the framework of school education.

Research Methods. The theory of the information society, the theory of the digital economy, the competency-based approach, and the theory of “net” education were used as methodological foundations. The empirical part of the article is based on the application of the methods of statistical data analysis, a sample survey of students, teachers.

Conclusions. In the article, the skills requirements of the students in the digital economy were compared to competencies, formed in compliance with the Russian federal educational standards (meta-subject competencies and soft skills). The analysis showed a slight correspondence between the formed competencies and the skills necessary in the digital economy. Based on the statistical and monitoring data on Permskii Krai, conclusions about the incomplete formation of meta-subject competencies of students in schools are drawn.

The significance of the study. The results of the study are "pilot" for the regions of Russia in the field of training for the digital economy. The results of the study made it possible to highlight the problems of the formation of meta-subject competencies of students that can be solved in cooperation with educational organizations and authorities. The experience gained, taking into account the solution of identified problems, can be used by other regions.
