Abstract:
Universities in the Slovak Republic were closed due to the COVID - 19 pandemic from March 10, 2020. The teachers got into a new situation, as it was necessary to quickly change the method of teaching from contact to distance form. Within a few days, video conferencing methods as well as e-learning courses began to be used, mainly in the Moodle platform. At the Department of Technology and Information Technologies at the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra, the subject Parts of Machines and Machines was taught through the e-learning course called Parts of Machines and Machines. The paper brings knowledge and experience from the use of this course to both teachers and students. The results of the use are processed in terms of course attendance and use of individual activities and in terms of student performance from the tests that were used as feedback. The obtained data is processed using tables, graphs and descriptive statistics. This course has been used in the past as a support material for contact teaching. For this reason, the paper also compares the results obtained from this aspect. The results point to the fact that the chosen form of education during the pandemic helped to bridge the situation, but in the final exam of the subject, the contact method appears to be better.
