Abstract:
The topic of financial literacy has been a focus of Czech education for the last 15 years. Education concept of financial literacy has undergone a series of changes, that resulted in implementation of financial literacy since 1st September 2013 in education, at 1st grade of Primary School in a field called Man and His World, at 2nd grade in a field called Man and Society.

Education of pupils with hearing impairment has certain specifics, that result from the size and duration of hearing loss, the use of compensatory aid, selected communication mode (spoken or sign language) and possibly also school (mainstream or special ), where the pupil goes to and its attitude towards the pupil. In the context of teaching literacy there is also a question, that occurs at the monitored group of pupils, in what level the success of financial literacy influences in professional circles the mentioned issues in the field of Mathematical concepts and reading comprehension.

The present paper introduces readers with results of pupils with hearing impairment from 5th up to 9th class in the area of financial literacy. Research sample consists of 36 pupils with hearing loss higher than 61 dB from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, who participated on 16th International competition that takes place every year in Slovakia. As far as research methods are concerned there were didactical tests used, based on Czech national curriculum and modified tasks from PISA and TIMMS researches.

As the results show, most pupils reached less than 50% of success rate in Mathematical tasks with the focus on financial literacy and there exists medium correlation between the achieved level of Math skills and reading comprehension. However, obtained data cannot be generalized, because like at intact population also among pupils with hearing impairment, we can find pupils with developed logical-mathematical thinking and verbal thinking that can appear both individually and together and therefore influence the success of these pupils in the field of school financial literacy.
