Abstract:
Social media platforms have become an integral part of many people’s lives.Through social networks, users are creating both active and passive digital footprints, spending more and more time on these platforms. The rising global popularity and usage of social media gives us the chance to understand the social, cultural, and environmental challenges that influence people's perspectives on everyday activities, including learning. This study aims to identify the main topic associated with blended learning on the Twitter social network via hashtag and community analysis based on 313,668 messages created by 62,764 individual users. The data were recorded between January 1, 2010 and March 31, 2022. The SMAHR (Social Media Analysis based on Hashtag Research) framework was used for the research. As a result, we identified online learning (e-learning), personalised learning and flipper learning as a key topic in the area of blended learning communication on the Twitter social network. Subsequent important topics affected by covid-19 are hybrid learning and gamification. The trends of individual topics from 2010 to 2020 are discussed in the article in the context of the covid-19 pandemic. These results are important from the point of view of understanding the dynamics of blended learning in the framework of global communication on social networks.
