Abstract:
Teaching has always been not only the time of a lesson. It is a huge amount of time before the lesson (planning, preparing, searching for the materials, etc.). But recent times have brought about a lot of changes to the process of lesson planning. On the one hand it has become a lot easier, with many tools for teaching (programs, teaching communities, online courses..). On the other hand it means a serious challenge and information overload.
Thus, the purpose of the article is to study and review various software programs, internet-resources and artificial intelligence (AI) possibilities that can be used for lesson preparation.
In order to archive this goal we have classified the teaching tools in several groups (software programs, web-sites that offer ready worksheets or printable worksheets development, web-sites that offer educational online activities, web-sites that can be used a source of material and AI aids). Classification presupposed review strategy. An experiment has also been conducted among the teachers and students, showing learning and teaching preferences and productivity of every aid type for the both.
Methods that we employ vary from studying fundamental materials to questionnaires and surveys, as well as basic methods of analysis and synthesis.
The article attempts to answer fundamental questions of teaching effectiveness and students’ motivation. The authors make the point that new trends in education help to solve the problem of motivation and reduce the time for lesson preparation. Educational opportunities that AI offers, mean unlimited outlook, if applied carefully. One more conclusion that the authors make is that every teaching aid is good at a certain stage of a lesson and aims at solving specific tasks developing a learner’s skills.
