Abstract:
The problem of bullying is never new, but it has received wide coverage recently. The idea of creating bully-free environment seems attractive but it is impossible without thorough research of the problem. Therefore articles studying various aspects of bullying are really vital.

Our article presents the results of studying the manifestations of bullying among 499 third and fourth graders and substantiates the need for preventive action.
The aim is to identify the prevalence of bullying among primary school children and identify areas of prevention.

Materials and methods:
The main research methods are: analysis of the scientific literature on the problem of bullying in the educational environment; diagnostic methods, including bullying structure testing and The Multidimensional Peer Victimization Scale-24 (MPVS-24).

The results:
The causes of school harassment, the role structure of bullying are identified, and empirical data from a study of the distribution of bullying roles and manifestations of victimization among primary school students are analyzed. It is emphasized that the phenomena of bullying are characteristic of primary school around the world, and can be determined by external and internal factors. Empirical data show that up to 80% of primary school students found themselves in a situation of school bullying, 20% became victims of bullying.

It is concluded that the problem of bullying in the educational environment is widespread in primary school, one of the ways to solve it may be the introduction of a primary prevention program.
